Jim Fair, AIA, CSI
Partner
For more than 35 years, Jim has been deeply involved in solving
complex interdisciplinary design, construction and performance challenges on a wide range of commercial, institutional and residential projects. His work has included award-winning and innovative new construction, complex masonry renovations and high-performing buildings, forensic investigations, construction claims research, arbitration and litigation support. Throughout his career he has focused on building code and life safety issues as well as the technical aspects involved in the design and construction of building enclosure systems. Jim is known for his collaborative approach, helping to bring the numerous stakeholders and consultants on many of today’s complex projects onto the same page, ensuring that owner, design, construction and jurisdictional team members share the same goals and objectives.

Jim is currently serving a three-year term on the Seattle Fire Department Fire Code Advisory Board, and is President-Elect of the Seattle Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the AIA Seattle Building Code Committee, National Institute of Building Sciences and the Seattle Building Enclosure Council. He is a Registered Architect and has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Oklahoma State University.

For more than 30 years, Celeste has worked on a broad range of large, challenging projects and initiatives in, out and around the design and construction industry. She has provided leadership within entrepreneurial startups and in consultation to multinational corporations, practiced and managed projects involving integrated design disciplines including workplace, interior, product and information design, architecture, engineering and planning. At Fair Building Technology, Celeste provides research, analysis and planning services to clients, and supports projects requiring complex information structuring, communication planning and deliverables. She is known for her ability to listen, identify patterns, crystallize a story and develop a coherent roadmap for moving forward.

Celeste also writes and consults on Architecture, Design & Sustainable Living with Robin Avni | Lifestyle Topics, Insights & Trends and serves on the Board of Directors for the Pomegranate Center. She is a member of the Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA) and an alumnus of the Leadership Tomorrow Seattle program. Celeste has a BA, Interior Design from Michigan State University and a Masters in Design (Planning) degree from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology.
